Being "The Body"

Believers are called The Body of Christ (Rom 7:4, 1Co 10:16 & 12:27, Eph 4:12 etc.). We all come from different walks of life, backgrounds and denominations. While I do believe there are some non-negotiables in the context of doctrine, these should unite us. We should allow our stylistic and traditional differences to be put aside to accomplish the work The Body was called to do. To glorify God in the service of others. It is the blood of Christ that unites us. The fact that we are all in need of his grace in our life. I have been fortunate to see just that.
It has been such a blessing having Vision 4 Eternity and Divine Art Institute here in Alaska serving alongside us at The Compass. I love this community and it warms my heart to see others join us. To share with the students, they are valuable and loved by their creator (John 3:16). That the "mistakes" in their/our art are what make it original and part of the process. Much like our life we can't help but focus on these mistakes no matter how amazing it came out in the end. A life surrendered to God will produce a masterpiece in the end... Us! If we allow ourselves to be molded, pushed and bent and in some cases broken by God he will transform us. He promises us in Romans 8:28, And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. We can be made into a masterpiece that reflects God's sovereignty, love and workmanship. Even though it may seem as if everything around us if falling apart, God is working in us, molding us, changing us.
Remember he cares for you. In the midst of the storm he is still in control and has a purpose for it!
